From sewn blankets in middle school, to costume and cosplay pieces, to purses/bags, and endless hours of crocheting, or even making rope/line netting; I am no stranger to needles, thread, yarn, etc.

Yarn

I started with knitting, but after a long struggle with rounds, I quickly focused on crochet. I have made a ton of crochet pieces over the years, taught others, and have even designed a number of my own patterns (some can be found on Ravlery). Mostly I work best with medium yarns and single stitch, but I do enjoy double stitches and other forms for texture. I love making stuffed animals and heating pads most of all.

Sewing

Sewing for me has mostly fallen into two categories. Clothing is not my main skill but I have made several outfits for plays, cosplayers, and re-enactors. The other category I fall into a lot is making bags. Purses, backpacks, electronics cases, and more. I enjoy the challenge of making something functional, and heavy duty enough for daily use and abuse, but also trying to keep a clean look and design to be pleasing to the eye. I also love to create a unique bag made for a specific niche task or requirement that does not fit for anything off the store shelf.

Other areas where I have some skills, but less experience:

  • Finger-knitting

  • Knitting looms

  • Looms

  • Rope work

  • Lining

  • Netting

  • Embroidery
