Demonstrations

Several of the skills listed on this website here work very well for demonstration environments. I’m quite used to doing living history either in Renn Faires, or Old West Villages. I have the most experience here with blacksmithing, but leatherworking also fits well. Small electronics projects work well for in Expo formats for demos on various principles at events like school fairs. I am also no stranger to conventions. I have lead several panel discussions, basic talks, and skill seminars ranging all over in subjects like “Real World D&D Gear: a practical guide to understanding character equipment”, “Literary Representations of Practical Skills”.

Classes

While I am not a registered educational professional, I have been asked in as a guest teacher to many classes in colleges and high schools. I have also lead educational seminars for clubs, and conventions, and practical skills classes for clubs and groups like the American Scouts. Most of these classes fall into various types of making like teaching the basics of welding, or a short intro to blacksmithing. I have also done classes on things like a late night self defense class for college dorms, or how to establish a student club.

Team Building

This is the rarest type of event that I get asked to do, though it can also be the most fun. My favorite team building event was to do a company knife making class, combining a lot of science knowledge with practical skills, having people help one another and watching as everyone grew more and more comfortable with different types of tools.
