Woodworking was my first introduction into making.

I can remember my Papa guiding my hands delicately around a scroll saw blade as we made various little figurines until he bought me my first tool box for my seventh birthday. I’ve certainly made more than figurines in the 20+ years since then, but I sometimes still feel his hands guiding me as I work a piece to become something beautiful. Like in metalworking, a large chunk of my woodworking has been scrap wood, though out of expense more than appearance. I’ve done a fair amount of commission work, from game boards and historical props to some theatre stage pieces, but lately most of it has been on the practical everyday side; shelves, tables, beds, etc.
